SUBSTRATE:- Asbestos

Description:- Cement based sheet reinforced with
fibrous cement. No longer in production due to the carcinogenic nature of the
asbestos fibres. (Production ceased approx. 1982).

Area of Use:- Roof and
wall sheeting, eaves lining.
|
|
Substrate Preparation:-
Surface area must be clean, dry
and must have mould/fungal contamination tested before coating.
NOTE:- Surface preparation requires
special attention to ensure NO asbestos fibres are released
into the atmosphere or waterways. ALL cleaning water MUST
be collected to retain fibres. Refer local government authority for
guidelines.
In severely deteriorated substrates
e.g. old
Super Six
Roofing, it is more economical and successful for long
term durability, to completely remove material and replace.
